Wow, I've been so crazy-busy the last week or so, I have hardly any time to create or blog. Completely unacceptable! I can't even tell you what in particular I've been doing, just lots of it, and too frequently my head hits the pillow before a post hits my blog. Anyway, I found some time to relax last night and make a card for two challenges, another pleasure I have been neglecting. So, here you have it: a soft, simple card using color and sketch challenges that I thought worked very well together.
I just loved the subdued colors that Lesley selected as soon as I saw them on The Paper Players color challenge. They are such soft colors the way I used them, but they could work equally well for a more rugged, masculine card. If I had the time, I would have done that, too!
The second challenge that I'm playing along with today is the Retro Sketches sketch challenge. Isn't it perfect for this project? Simple and sweet.
The technique I used here is called Emboss Resist. I used the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set to stamp my image using Versamark Ink, and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. Then I sponged over it with a sponge dauber and Baja Breeze Ink. The greeting was stamped on top using Basic Black ink.
