Scentsational Season for FMS49

Can it possibly be Monday already? Can it possibly be the last week of summer? The weather has been most glorious for the last couple of weeks here in New York, so I'm not complaining. I just don't want it to end. But, alas, it will. And then comes Autumn, and then the holidays. So, have you started making any holiday cards yet? Don't wait until the last minute! Before I give you the details on today's project, I have a little update on my Fine Furry Friend.

As you can see, both of Oreo's front paws are in fine working order now, though a little dusty (he was doing some gardening). He is now poised in his favorite place once again, surveying his domain from our his front porch. I had a bit of a time getting his bandage off, though, and resorted to (now don't scream) my paper snips to get it off. A friend much wiser than I suggested that I should have used my craft and rubber scissors, though that wisdom arrived a bit too late. Anyway, my fuzzy friend was worth it, and Oreo thanks you all for your get well wishes.

My holiday project for today was inspired by the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, though I had to stretch the sketch just a bit to fit my row of candy canes. This was a simple card to stamp and assemble, and would be a perfect card to mass produce.

The candy canes are from a stamp set called Scentsational Season, which has a coordinating set of Framelits. They can be purchased separately or together as a discounted bundle, and you can see the details on page 16 of the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog. Are you wondering where the term "Scentsational" comes from? There are two new scented embossing powders available which coordinate with this stamp set. They are Sugar & Spice, and Peppermint Sticks. I wish you could smell them, they're delicious!
