Greetings Stampers, and Happy Monday! Are you all enjoying the last few weekends of summer? It really hit me the other day how much shorter the days are becoming, which makes me a little sad, but I'm determined to spend as much time outdoors as I can in the weeks to come. Of course, one must always set a little time aside for creating! My creation today features one of my most-used stamp sets ever, Fabulous Florets.
I'm playing along with two challenges today, the first of which is the Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge. I must admit, it wasn't love at first sight with this challenge and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. However, once I selected a color scheme and a stamp set, it all fell into place. I was pleasantly surprised with the way it came out. Don't you love when that happens?
The color scheme that helped me work it out is the second challenge I'm playing along with today, the Create With Connie and Mary color challenge. It's a challenge with two new In Colors, and I love it! I find blues and greens so easy to work with; it seems hard to make a mistake.
I used Gumball Green Ink to stamp the larger leaf image, and then continued stamping without re-inking for a lighter shade of green. The smaller leaves were all stamped off once, as well. The flowers were stamped and then cut out by hand. For the smaller flowers, I used Whisper White Card Stock which I dabbed a little Daffodil Ink on with a Sponge Dauber. Then, I stamped the outlined image over it. The flower on top is popped up with a couple Dimensionals.
