I had so much fun making this holiday tag! I give most of the credit to two of my favorite new holiday products: the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and coordinating Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper. This combination of products make assembling a beautifully coordinated project a breeze. Who wouldn't like this tag on one of their gifts? I would be happy with just the tag!
You know I like to combine challenges when I can, as I find that process very inspiring. The first challenge that I created this project for was the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I thought that round layout really wanted to be a tag, and those hearts wanted to be mittens! Lots of yummy layers in this sketch make for a special project.
A Tic Tac Toe challenge from The Paper Players... my favorite kind! I started my Tic Tac Toe from top left to bottom right. There are certainly plenty of circles in my project. The dry embossing was done on the Cherry Cobbler background and on the tab. I used punches for the layer with my greeting, and a border punch for the middle layer. No, I did not punch the mittens. Those were cut out by hand!
I heat embossed the mittens with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder for the richest color. The flagged strip in the background was pierced, then I connected the dots with a marker to create faux stitching. A little piece of Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine to connect the mittens is reminiscent of the mittens some of us had as children.
