I'm really enjoying working with my new Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set. It's a great set that lends itself to so many different possibilities. I cased this card from a sample in the current Stampin' Up catalog that uses a different stamp set. I loved the idea of the sponged background and wanted to give it a try.
I used the Apothecaries Accents Die to cut a stencil and attached it to the card front using temporary adhesive. Then, I sponged inside it using Baja Blue Ink and a Stampin' Sponge, keeping the area in the center a little lighter than the edges. I removed the stencil and stamped my images, stamping the flowers and buds twice for a lighter, stamped off image. Finally, I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to pierce around the stenciled image.
