Greetings, Stampers! Yesterday I tried something new for the first time, making a round card. It was much easier than I thought, and fun! This card measures about 4 3/8" and will fit nicely into a standard Stampin' Up Medium Envelope. The color inspiration was the Floral District Designer Series Paper, which is Tangerine Tango, Whisper White and Lucky Limeade. Yumm!
Making a round card using the Scallop Circle Die is easy, as I said. Simply cut two scallop circles. At the top of one of them, score just below four of the scallops and crease. Attach to the other half of the card using a strong adhesive like Sticky Strip. You'll have to trim the Sticky Strip between the scallops with your Paper Snips, but it is well worth the effort as this is all that is holding the card together.
The inspiration for this project was this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I'm glad I was challenged to make a round card and to learn something new. Thanks to Julee Tilman for a great sketch and for her tutorial on making a round card.
To create my multi-layer blossom, I started with a blossom punched from Tangerine Tango Card Stock, which I attached to the card using Dimensionals. Then, I stamped another blossom onto Whisper White Card Stock in Tangerine Tango Ink, using the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set. Atop that is a small white flower punched from Whisper White Card Stock using the Boho Blossom Punch, and a Designer Fabric Brad. I attached this second layer to the first using more Dimensionals.
