Greetings! I hope all my fellow stampers are doing well today. As you know, the Stampin' Up! 2011-2012 Catalog is about to retire on May 31, and I'm going to show you as many samples using about-to-retire products before then as possible. Featured today is the Simply Soft Hostess Set, which is by far my favorite and most used hostess set. The delicate flowers are so much fun to color and always come out so pretty.
This card was designed with two challenges in mind. The first is The Paper Players challenge, which is to use polka dots on a clean and simple project. I don't know how clean and simple my project is ( I guess I didn't read that part!), but it definitely has polka dots! I used the Dot, Dot, Dot Background Stamp which is also a retiring stamp. I inked just the edges of the stamp, randomly, to create the subtle but interesting background.
The second challenge is the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This is a great, simple sketch with so much room for interpretation. Love it.
The flowers were colored with several markers in shades of pink and green using the layered marker technique. The edges were the sponged with a little Sahara Sand Ink. The tidy little bow was made using a fork. I love making fork bows! They always come out perfect. If anyone is interested in a tutorial, leave a comment at the end of the post and I'd be happy to put one together for you.
