Uncharted Territory Gate Fold

The project I have to share with you today is a card I did with my technique class earlier this month. It is a Gate Fold Card, which is basically a card that opens up from the center. The card base is cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", as you would cut for a normal A2 size card. Each side is scored at 2 1/8" inch from the edge and folded inward. The center portion of the card is attached to the card base only on the left side.

This is what the card looks like opened. I decorated the inside flaps as I did the outside. The sailboat stamped under the greeting was done with Soft Suede ink, which was stamped off twice for a subtle image.

The lighthouse was stamped in Black Stazon Ink on Watercolor Paper and colored with ink pads and an Aqua Painter. The sky was sponged with a Dauber.
