MOJO 232, PP86 and Delicate Doilies

The Delicate Doilies Stamp Set is one I haven't made a project with in a while. The doilies are so soft and delicate, don't you think? Combined with flowers and butterflies, they make for a very feminine birthday card.

I'm playing along with two challenges today. First is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This is a great sketch with clean and simple lines, and one that leaves lots of room for your creativity.

The second is this week's Paper Players Color Challenge. At first glance, I thought the color combination was so soft and pretty. However, I must admit, when I started working with these colors I had a bit of a hard time. The problem was I couldn't figure out where to add the Crumb Cake, which seemed a little out of place on my project. In the end, I decided to add a couple of small accents: one little blossom and a Crumb Cake butterfly.

The leaves were made using the Little Leaves Sizzlit, and the blossoms were made with a punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. The sentiment is from my all-time favorite sentiment stamp set, Sincere Salutations.

I'm loving the way this background paper came out. First I stamped with the Delicate Doilies Stamp Set in the three different colors. Then I ran the card stock through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. Easy, and so pretty! I can't wait to try this out again in other color combinations.
