Masculine Valentine

Greetings, Stampers, and a happy Monday to you! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It was bitter cold here in New York yesterday, but I guess we can't complain because it's been a very mild winter overall. Enough about the weather... Today's project is a masculine Valentine for my son (obviously).  The colors and layout are simple but there is quite a bit of interest thanks to several layers of texture. The base is Sahara Sand Textured Card Stock. The next layer is Very Vanilla which was embossed with the Big Shot and Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates. I then sponged that layer with Sahara Sand ink to bring out the Harlequin pattern. On top of that is Basic Black which was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

The 'son' image is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. I stamped it onto Very Vanilla Card Stock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I sponged the entire area with Riding Hood Red Ink. After I punched it out with the Full Heart Punch, I sponged the edges a little more. All the hearts were popped up with Dimensionals.
