As promised, following is the tutorial on how to make this sweet little box. The original post for this project was published yesterday for the Tour de Freaks Blog Tour. You can go to that post and visit all the stops on the tour by clicking here.
For the top of box, cut Riding Hood Red Card Stock to a 5 1/2" square. (I cut both examples in white as it is easier to see for the tutorial). Score at 1/2" and 1 1/8" along all four sides using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Trim the corners according to photo, above. Apply Sticky Strip along four edges, as shown where x's are. Crease along score lines, tuck in tabs, remove Sticky Strip protective covering and assemble. (Click on any photo for a larger view).
For the bottom of box, cut Blushing Bride Card Stock to a 6 1/2" square. Score at 3/4" and 1 5/8" along all four sides. Complete the bottom following the same instructions as top.
Here is the completed gift box, all assembled and decorated. I wrapped the outside of the lid with Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon. The top of the lid was layered with Blushing Bride and Basic Gray Card Stock. The next layer is Whisper White Card Stock, stamped with an image from the Valentine Love Stamp Set in Blushing Bride. Next, a heart was cut using the Hearts Framelits Dies in Blushing Bride. Then the heart was embossed with the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders. The cherub was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Basic Gray Card Stock. He was then cut out and popped up with a few Dimensionals. Finally, a few blossoms were punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adorned with Rhinestones.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that you will make a little gift box, too! Check out yesterday's post with other coordinating projects here!
