TSSC191 and Nature Walk

Greetings, Stampers! Today's card was created for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. What a great sketch, Mary Jo! I thought the bird from the Nature Walk Stamp Set fit just perfectly into the rectangle in the sketch, and my design took off from there.

I've been craving vintage lately, so I gave this project a good dose of it. I used Naturals Ivory Card Stock for the card base and for the bird layer. Every layer is either sponged, distressed or both, and I piled on a good dose of embellishments.

I made the circle layer using my Circle Scissor Plus and then embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. The piercings were made using the Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack.

Do you like the 'First Edition Blossom' as much as I do? Good, because I am going to show you how to make one! It's so easy.

Using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, I cut out four blossoms from First Edition Designer Series Paper.

Next, I crumbled them up into little balls.

I unfolded them, and sponged the edges and wrinkles with a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede Ink.

Starting with the bottom layer, I glued them together using Tombo Multi Purpose Glue. Each layer should be scrunched a little more than the layer before to make lots of little blossom petals.

The Itty Bitty flowers were done similarly. Scrunch one up numerous times until the paper separates into two layers. Peel them apart and then sponge a little.
