Beautiful Season

When I received the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog this year, the first must-have stamp set I saw in it was Beautiful Season. I was enchanted by the little Chickadee perched on the Holly branches. Why is it, then, that it was the last one I tried out? I finally did so last night and I love-love-love it! What a gorgeous image, both an inside and an outside greeting, plus a useful gift tag.

The image in Beautiful Season is so easy to watercolor. I used only three colors of ink: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake. I decided I wanted to add a little sparkle to the berries so I added some Dazzling Details.

Dazzling Details is one of my favorite items from the new Holiday Mini Catalog (and only $2.50!). Tip: Apply your Dazzling Details after the card has been completely assembled. You'll want to set your project aside to dry for at least an hour.

I love adding something special to the inside of a card. The image was stamped on the inside of the card with Crumb Cake ink which had been stamped off once for a subtle background. The greeting was stamped over it in Always Artichoke.
