Gently Falling Birthday

The soon to be released Gently Falling Stamp Set makes another appearance today in this clean and simple birthday card. I love leaf and tree images for masculine cards, and I think this stamp set works well for that purpose. The stripes in the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper have so many color variations in it, I think you could probably use any shade of green with it and it would work just fine.

Gently Falling is a two-step set. For this example, the background layer of the leaf was stamped in Certainly Celery ink, and then the edges of the stamp were rolled onto an Old Olive ink pad. (This is called the Rock and Roll technique). The outline was stamped in Always Artichoke. The background is Very Vanilla card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. A simple strip of Old Olive Satin Ribbon plus a 5/16" Jumbo Brad are all the embellishments that this card needs.
