TSSC183 and Technique Tuesday: Mother of Pearl

I have been itching to try out the Mother-of-Pearl technique with my Fun Flowers Die, and was hoping for a sketch this week to inspire me. Mary Jo must have been reading my mind when she came up with this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. This sketch was perfect; just what the doctor ordered!

The Mother-of-Pearl technique is pretty simple and so much fun to do. Just pour a few drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint onto a paper plate.  Scrunch some plastic wrap into a ball, and dip the plastic wrap into the paint. Dab off the excess on the paper plate, then dab onto the cardstock, leaving some of the cardstock uncovered. Allow to dry for a few minutes. Then, add a few more drops of Shimmer Paint onto your paper plate. This time, add one or two drops of re-inker and stir with a toothpick. Using the same process as before, this time with a sponge, dab a little more colored Shimmer Paint to create the Mother-of-Pearl effect.

Wow, that is one of the prettiest samples of this technique I have seen in a long time. Love it. Thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week!
