Simply Soft Just For You

This card, and the technique used to color it, was inspired by a very talented fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator. It uses the Simply Soft hostess set, which is a beautiful two-step set that can be earned free by hosting a qualifying workshop of $150 or more.

The coloring technique is called the Layered Marker Technique. First, the image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with black Stazon ink. Then, I colored the flower petals completely with a Pink Pirouette marker. Next, I colored just the bottom half of the petals with a Pretty in Pink marker. Finally, at the very base of each petal I added a tiny bit of Melon Mambo marker. The technique for the stems is the same. First color them with Certainly Celery and highlight a little with Old Olive. The final step is to trace around each entire stem and flower with Sahara Sand. This adds a lot of depth. I love the way it came out. A little time consuming, granted, but very relaxing. At least for me!
