Celebrating Independence

A happy 4th to you all! Of course, I have a patriotic card to share with you today. I did something I rarely do for this card: 'Case' someone else's card almost exactly. I love the Land of the Free stamp and have been experimenting with different ways to use it. When I saw a fellow demonstrator's card, with white embossing on colored card stock, I thought it was the perfect use of this stamp. Why mess with perfection?

I thought it would be appropriate to spend some time today, on Independence Day, to sort through my big card stash and package up a bunch of cards to send to Operation Write Home. I know, I have mentioned this organization before, but today seems like the perfect day to bring it up again. OWH collects and distributes hand made cards for active service members to write home with. You can also address a card to an unknown service member, to thank them for their service. That is a beautiful card!!! I love how you have the stars part of the flag in navy and the red card stock with the white embossed lines! Thank you for sharing! I recently saw the OWH site and plan to start sending some cards in too! Great way to support the troops while doing something we enjoy!
