The Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week is stars. "Use one star or a whole galaxy of them as the element of style on your card!" I took this as an opportunity to make a patriotic card, which I will send to an unknown service member through Operation Write Home. To learn more about Operation Write Home, click here.
To make the star images in the background, I used my Big Shot and the Stars Die #2 to create a stencil out of scrap paper. I then sponged through the stencil with a Stampin' Sponge and Crumb Cake ink. For the Land of the Free image, I covered the stars with a piece of tape before I inked my stamp on a Cherry Cobbler ink pad. I removed the tape and colored the stars with a Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write marker.

This is gorgeous - love the more subtle look of the colors you chose! Just beautiful!
This will sure bring a smile to someone's face! An incredibly beautiful card! Thanks for joining in the fun at Pals Paper Arts!
Love your card! Also, thanks for the techniques tips of making a stencil for the stars & putting tape over part of the stamp before inking. Really appreciate that since I'm new to stamping & am always looking for new ideas for using more than 1 color for a stamp. I know the serviceman who receives your card will really appreciate it.
Love your star background and the vintage feel of this card!
