I thought I would try a new challenge I discovered this week, the Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. If you are ever suffering from a case of 'Stamper's Block', a challenge is always a good prescription. I turned this sketch on it's side, and used both dry and heat embossing to create this Get Well card.
I love learning a new technique. Today, I am sharing one I tried for the first time: embossing a brad. So easy: I took a 5/16" white Jumbo Brad, and pressed it into my Versamark stamp pad. (I held the brad with a clothespin, this worked very well). Then, I dipped it into Melon Mambo embossing powder and heat embossed. The color was not as rich as I wanted it to be, so while the brad was still warm, I dipped it back into the powder and heat embossed again. I did this for a total of three times for a nice, rich, shiny color. So much fun! I can't wait to try it again with other colors. Be sure to allow the brad to cool for a few minutes before mounting it to your project.
